The Executive Board plans and oversees all RPEA activities. The Executive Board holds an annual multi-day planning session where board officers discuss issues relevant to the RPEA's mission, sets priorities, and plans actions for the coming year. Member suggestions for setting priorities are welcome at any time.
The 11-member Board consists of the President, Executive Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, three Regional Vice-Presidents (Northern, Southcentral, Southeast), four Directors (Education & Outreach, Health Benefits, Legislative, and Membership). Officer descriptions, qualifications and terms of office can be found in the RPEA By-laws.
The RPEA also has an important seat on the Retiree Health Plan Advisory Board (RHPAB) and a seat on the RHPAB Modernization Sub-Committee.
Presently, RPEA's Health Benefits Committee Director Mike Humphrey sits on the RHPAB and RPEA member Mauri Long holds the seat on the RHPAB Modernization Sub-Committee. The RPEA also has a seat on the RHPAB Regulations Sub-Committee, although it is not an active committee at this time. RPEA Treasurer Wendy Woolf holds that position.
The Executive Board meets at least eight (8) times a year. Executive Board meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of each month from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (noon). Video/teleconferencing is available for members in good standing who would like to attend virtually. Links to the upcoming meeting agenda, as well as the Zoom link for that meeting are shown in the details of each board meeting event found in the Calendar. Access to a Zoom meeting begins at 9:50 a.m.

There is an RPEA member comment period near the beginning of each Executive Board meeting for member input, as well as another comment period at the end of each meeting. The initial comment period is open for up to thirty minutes and each individual member will have up to two minutes each to address the Board. RPEA members may also submit written comments to the Board at any time by mail to the address at the bottom of this page or by email at manager@rpea-ak.org
Minutes. Copies of finalized agendas and approved minutes of Executive Board meetings for the last three fiscal years are available to members through the Member Area page.

Budget. RPEA members may, through the Member Area page, download a copy of the RPEA’s current fiscal year budget, which is provided in summary form by expenditure categories, as well as a copy of the previous year’s fiscal year-end budget, also by summary expenditure categories.
Meetings. RPEA Members interested in attending an Executive Board meeting in-person can attend at the office location listed at the bottom of this page (see the map) or attend via video-conference by selecting the Zoom link for the specific meeting event found in the Calendar for that month. See the 2025 Board meeting schedule below.
