Fiscal Plan Working Group receives testimony

  Sally Smith testifies

The Legislative Comprehensive Fiscal Plan Working Group took public testimony from four locations around the state, including Juneau. Several RPEA members, testifying on behalf of themselves, gave a historical perspective to the committee based on their years of public service. Sally Smith was among them. She served as a Fairbanks legislator when the permanent fund dividend program was established. After she served three administrations overseeing both the Division of Retirement and Benefits and the division which issued PFD checks, she went on to be elected the Mayor of Juneau. She is pictured speaking to Senator Jesse Kiehl, a member of the working group representing the northern part of the Southeast panhandle.
